LIFE BEFORE PAYAPPS

Prior to using Payapps, Empire submitted claims on spreadsheets using a template Robyn had put together, based on her previous experience working for a head contractor. That process worked quite well, but like any spreadsheet-based system, there were occasional issues with formulas getting missed and that would sometimes take time to track down and fix.

Such issues are not a problem when using Payapps.

“Payapps removes a lot of duplication. You don’t have to copy last month’s worksheet to start a new claim, it is there automatically. So it simplifies the process and there are no errors. It’s foolproof.”

Payapps is designed with subcontractors in mind. Most progress claims are submitted monthly, so when people are not using a system every day of their working week, it has to be simple to learn and use. And should subcontractors need any support with Payapps, the in-app chat feature makes it easy to reach out to the support team for a quick response to their question.

Payapps makes it possible for subcontractors to manage all their contracts in the one place.  When claims are approved by the head contractor, they are instantly visible on the platform and the balances are brought forward ready for the next claim. It also makes it very clear as to how much of the certified value relates to the original contract works, how much relates to variations, and whether those variations have been approved or are being paid on account.“

The home page is very useful for seeing where there are outstanding claims and for tracking retention balances. It is also very handy that I can access it on my phone, so when I’m not in the office I still have access.”
